marketgoo Start is an easy-to-use Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) tool, that helps you optimise your new website. marketgoo Start performs a basic SEO analysis of your website and creates a report telling you what improvements are needed, along with easy-to-follow steps. We recommend it for customers that are just getting started with SEO.
marketgoo Evolution is the next step up from Start, as it goes into much more detail on what needs to be done and sends more frequent SEO status updates. It’s recommended for the intermediate user as you grow your business online.
Note: marketgoo is accessible from your one.com control panel. Click Search Engine Optimiser on the Marketing tile to go straight to the marketgoo dashboard
How do I activate marketgoo?
When getting started with marketgoo, you can set up your SEO preferences by following the four simple steps in the startup wizard. Choose the goal of your website and where your visitors come from to help optimise your website. These are not permanent choices, you can always change them again under Settings.
marketgoo analyses your website and creates an online monthly report. You get an easy-to-read overview of your website statistics, divided into the following topics:
Overview
marketgoo starts by showing you your overall website SEO score and then shows your score progress for the last fifteen days or three months. With Start, you can also download your monthly report as a PDF. Re-Scan your site weekly to check your SEO progress. Generally speaking, the higher the website score, the better.
SEO Progress
By looking at your SEO Progress, you can see at a glance how well your website is doing, and how many tasks you have yet to complete to improve your SEO.
Site Traffic
Your site’s traffic shows how many visitors your website has had within a certain time period. It’s important to note that if your website is brand new, you will need to wait until there have been enough visitors to display data, or to be indexed.
In this case, it may take up to 8-10 weeks for all your data to be displayed.
If you have a Google Analytics (GA) account for your website, you can also connect your GA account to your marketgoo dashboard for more in-depth data.
Note: your website is added to search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo automatically when you set up marketgoo, so you don’t need to do anything.
Keyword Rankings
Keywords are the words and phrases people use when they search online for something. Your website’s keywords relate to what your product or service is.
The Keyword Rankings section displays how your selected keywords rank with the main search engines. (This ranking system is different from your website score in that for keywords, the closer the value is to “1” the better it is for your ranking. This means the keyword shows on the first page of a search engine.)
With the Start plan, you can add up to five keywords to track.
Note: If after a week or even a month there are no values for a keyword ranking, this means it is not ranked in the first 100 pages of a search engine. This could be because your website is brand new and needs time, the keywords you are using are too general, or that there isn’t enough content on your website yet.
Competitor Keywords
You can add up to two competitors and see what keywords they are using and how they rank. You can then use this to improve your own keyword strategy.
Audit
Site Review
In this section, we look at the technical performance of your website. marketgoo checks, among other things, if your site is loading fast enough and if there are broken links. You will see tasks to complete to improve your technical performance. You’ll receive further instructions by clicking on the tasks.
On-Page Optimisation
This is where you can make your website more user-friendly and valuable for users when they are browsing through your website. This will improve your rankings (or visibility) in search results. To help you improve your on-page optimisation, you can see on the dashboards the tasks you need to complete. When you click on the task, you can also read more about why it’s so important to complete.
Mobile
It’s important that your website is mobile-ready. In this section, you can check the tasks to ensure your website can be easily adapted to your visitors’ devices.
Optimise
Optimise your pages
Keywords are key to optimising your website. In marketgoo Start, you can select up to five keywords to track. marketgoo recommends you assign a specific keyword to each page. This helps you to optimise the content on that page.
Popularity
The more popular your site is, the higher it will rank with search engines.
Popularity is measured by the number of links pointing to your website. The more links (backlinks) you have, the more credible your website seems to search engines. marketgoo analyses your backlinks and tells you how to increase them.
Settings
Settings Options:
