Keywords are one or more words that describe what your site is about. When a user types in these words in a search engine, you want your site to appear in the search results.
Search engines crawl your site for information, so it is important that your keywords are used in content, titles and descriptions on your site. Keep in mind that the quality of your content is just as important. Search engines penalize sites that try to trick them.
In your MarketGoo dashboard you can add keywords that you want to track your ranking for. This allows you to track how you are doing when users search on these keywords, compared to your competitors.
- In your MarketGoo dashboard, click Settings in the top right corner.
- Click Manage keywords.
- Enter the words you want to track and click Search.
- Based on your search, you will get one or more suggestions. Click the + icon to add the keywords to your list.
When you choose keywords to track, avoid descriptions that are too general. You don't want to compete with too many other websites. Try to be more specific, for example by including the city or region where your prospective customers are located.
Based on the keywords you selected and the content on your site, MarketGoo will suggest related keywords. If your site is very new, it may take a while before suggestions appear.
