Setting up Thunderbird with CalDAV on Windows
This guide shows you how to set up your one.com calendar in Thunderbird on Windows to sync events automatically.
Note: Calendar functionality (previously provided by the Lightning add-on) has been included in Thunderbird by default since version 78 and remains available in all later versions. You don’t need to install a separate plugin to sync your CalDAV calendar.
- Step 1 - Open Thunderbird
- Step 2 - Create a new Calendar
- Step 3 - Select where your calendar is stored
- Step 4 - Open Webmail
- Step 5 - Copy the CalDAV url
- Step 6 - Configure new calendar
- Step 7 - Enter your email password
- Step 8 - Select name and color
- Step 9 - Subscribe to the calendar
- Step 10 - The setup is finished
- Step 11 - Create an event in Webmail
- Step 12 - Synchronize in Thunderbird
- Step 13 - All done!

Step 1 - Open Thunderbird
Open Thunderbird and click the Calendar icon on the left side on the screen.
Step 2 - Create a new Calendar
Right click on an existing calendar and select New Calendar... in the menu that appears.
Step 3 - Select where your calendar is stored
Select On the Network and click Next.
Step 4 - Open Webmail
- Log in to Webmail and click the Calendar icon in the menu in the left.
- Click the cogwheel next to the calendar you want to set up. Under Calendar options, click Show CalDAV url.
Step 5 - Copy the CalDAV url
Copy the unique CalDAV url for your calendar and go back to Thunderbird.
Step 6 - Configure new calendar
Enter the following details:
- Username: the email address associated with the calendar.
- Location: the CalDAV URL you copied from your one.com Webmail.
- Click Find Calendars.
Step 7 - Enter your email password
Enter your email password and click OK.
Step 8 - Select a name and color
Click the Properties button and choose a name and a color for your calendar and click OK to save.
Step 9 - Subscribe to the calendar
Make sure the calendar is checked and click Subscribe.
Step 10 - The setup is finished
Your calendar has now been added.
Step 11 - Create an event in Webmail
To make sure everything is set up correctly, create an event in Webmail, in the calendar you have just set up.
Step 12 - Synchronize in Thunderbird
Go back to Thunderbird and click Synchronize in the top left corner.
Step 13 - All done!
The event you just created in Webmail should now appear in your calendar in Thunderbird. If the calendar doesn't sync properly, please check your settings and try again.
