You can offer PayPal as a payment option in your Online Shop. This guide will show you how to enable it.
- Step 1 - Enable PayPal in your Online Shop dashboard
- Step 2 - Connect your PayPal account
- Step 3 - That's it!
Note: If you have an existing PayPal connection with a private account, you'll need to disconnect that first and then reconnect using the second option in step 2.
Step 1 - Enable PayPal in your Online Shop dashboard
- Go to your Online Shop dashboard via the one.com control panel.
- Go to Settings in the menu to the left and select Payment.
- Slide the toggle for PayPal.
Step 2 - Connect your PayPal account
You can now connect an existing PayPal account or create a new one from scratch. Please choose the option below that suits your needs:
Create and connect a new user
- Click Connect in the window that appears.
- The PayPal platform will open in a new window. Enter the email address you want to use for your PayPal user.
- Follow the setup flow on the screen. You'll be asked to provide basic details about your company.
- Once you've finished the flow and created your account, click Go back to one.com.
- Activate your PayPal account via the link you've received from them via email. You can also activate your account through Paypal's website.
Connect an existing user (private account)
Note: You can only connect a PayPal business account to your Online Shop. The following substeps show you how to convert a private account to a business account while connecting.
- Click Connect in the window that appears.
- You're now presented with two options. You can either Use a new email with your business account or Use your current email to switch to a business account. The first option will take you through the setup flow of a new account as outlined above. The latter option will convert your existing account to a business account.
- Follow the setup flow on the screen.
- Read the terms for connecting and click Accept and connect once you're done.
- Click Go back to one.com once you reach the end of the flow. This will take you back to the Online Shop.
Connect an existing user (business account)
- Click Connect in the window that appears.
- The PayPal platform will open in a new window. Enter the email address of the PayPal user to which payments should be made.
- Enter the password of the account and verify yourself via one of the selected methods.
- Read the terms for connecting and click Accept and connect once you're done.
- Click Go back to one.com.
Note: PayPal may ask you to provide additional information about your company after the initial setup. If this happens, you'll receive a separate email with a link that will lead you directly to the place where you can add this information.
Step 3 - That's it!
Paypal should now be active as a payment option in your Online Shop. The PayPal icon will appear during checkout.
