What is Cloudflare CDN?
Cloudflare is a service that helps improve your website's performance and security. It acts as a CDN, meaning Cloudflare saves copies of your website on servers worldwide and delivers content from the server closest to each visitor. If your online audience is spread across the globe, this reduces loading times and ensures faster access, no matter the visitor's location.

Good to know when using Cloudflare with one.com
SSL and HTTPS
SSL is enabled by default if your domain is hosted with one.com and includes web hosting. If preferred, you can switch to Cloudflare’s SSL certificate by adjusting settings in your Cloudflare dashboard. If your domain is with one.com, but another provider hosts the website, that provider manages both SSL and DNS settings.
In either case, ensure SSL is enabled in the Cloudflare dashboard for full encryption, even if SSL is already active at one.com or the other provider.
Caching Settings
Cloudflare caches your website's content automatically. You can adjust the caching levels in the Cloudflare dashboard depending on how frequently your website updates.
DNS Management
Once you've set up Cloudflare, DNS records (the settings that tell the internet where your website is hosted) are managed directly in Cloudflare's dashboard instead of the one.com Control Panel. Any DNS changes, such as adding subdomains or updating the MX record, must be made in Cloudflare's dashboard. -
How to connect Cloudflare with our servers?
Important: Before setting up Cloudflare with your one.com domain, make sure your DNS settings, such as A records, CNAME records, etc. are correctly configured in the one.com Control Panel. Go to Advanced settings > DNS settings > DNS records.
Step 1 - Sign up with Cloudflare
Go to Cloudflare's sign-up page, enter your email and password and click Sign up.
Once you create your account, Cloudflare will send a verification email to your address.Tip: Cloudflare's website is available in multiple languages, which can be changed in the top right corner of their website.
Step 2 - Add your domain to Cloudflare
Enter your existing domain and click Continue. Then, choose one of Cloudflare's plans and click Continue.
Step 3 - Review your DNS records
Cloudflare will automatically scan for your domain's existing DNS records. However, this scan may not capture all current DNS records. We recommend reviewing and comparing the list in your Cloudflare dashboard with the DNS records in your one.com Control Panel.
Add any missing records manually. Once all records are correctly imported and reviewed, click Continue below the list of DNS records in the Cloudflare dashboard.
Tip: If you are looking for an easy way to transfer your DNS records, you can request a DNS zone file from our support. This TXT file contains all your DNS records in a format ready to import into Cloudflare or other providers.
Step 4 - Deactivate DNSSEC at one.com
Before changing your nameservers, make sure to deactivate DNSSEC at one.com. You can follow the specific steps in our guide on deactivating DNSSEC in the one.com Control Panel.
If DNSSEC is still enabled after updating your nameservers, it can prevent Cloudflare's DNS records from resolving properly, leading to connectivity errors.
Step 5 - Update your Nameservers
Cloudflare will provide you with two assigned nameservers. In your one.com Control Panel, update the existing nameservers. If needed, you can use our guide: How do I change the nameservers?
Note: DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate. Please refer to Cloudflare's suggestions to minimize downtime, especially if your domain is sensitive to downtime.
Step 6 - Wait for your domain to activate at Cloudflare
Cloudflare will periodically check for nameservers updates. You will receive an email from Cloudflare when your domain is active.
In the meantime, you can explore Cloudflare's account, domain, and security optimization. The Cloudflare Help Center has extensive documentation and helpful articles.
After your domain activates, Cloudflare recommends activating DNSSEC within Cloudflare again to protect against domain spoofing.
