Backups is a VPS add-on that can improve the security of your VPS by automatically creating a full backup of it every day. With the help of the Backups add-on, you can easily fix system issues and data loss by restoring a VPS backup in your oneHome dashboard whenever you need it.


What is Backups?

Backups is an add-on that you can buy for your VPS in oneHome. If you have the Backups addon, we will automatically create a full backup of your VPS every day, including its configuration and all data. Each backup is stored for four days. You can restore a backup at any time in your oneHome dashboard.


What is the difference between snapshots and backups?

By creating a snapshot manually in your VPS dashboard, you can capture your Cloud Server’s state at a specific point of time in case you need to revert to it in case of issues. The snapshot is only stored for 24 hours, making it suitable for short-term backup of your VPS before major changes. Read more about snapshots in our guide:

The Backups add-on improves the security of your VPS and saves time by automatically creating a full backup of your VPS every day. This ensure that you can always restore your VPS to a previous state quickly and easily to fix data loss or system issues. Each backup is stored for four days.


How can I buy Backups?

You can buy Backups in your VPS dashboard in oneHome. The price of Backups is based on your VPS tier.

  1. Go to your VPS dashboard in the one.com Control Panel.
  2. Click the name of the VPS you want to buy Backups for, and it will open your oneHome.
  3. Click Add-ons in the left-hand menu.
  4. Click Select on the Backups tile.  This will open a page where you can see the monthly price of Backups add-on for your VPS plan.

5. Click Select again.
6. In the pop-up window, review the details of your order and place it by clicking Buy now.


How can I restore a VPS backup?

You can restore a backup in your oneHome dashboard in a few easy steps.

  1. Go to your VPS dashboard in the one.com Control Panel.
  2. Click the name of the VPS you want to restore a backup for, and it will open your oneHome.
  3. Click Backups in the left-hand menu.
  4. Click Restore to the right of the backup you want to restore.

  5. A pop-up window opens. Write your Cloud Server's name in the 'Cloud Server name' field and check the box for "I understand that restoring my backup will overwrite all existing data. I have saved a copy of all important data externally".
  6. Start the process of restoring the backup by clicking Restore.
  7. Your Cloud Server will be temporarily unavailable while the backup is being restored. You will get an e-mail when it is complete.
