How to connect to your Managed VPS services via DNS

This guide explains which DNS records are required to make your Plesk services on your Managed VPS work. Without a correctly configured DNS connection, the services will not work properly.


Connect to Webspace

To connect to your Plesk webspace, you need to create an A record with your DNS host. Your DNS host is where your domain name servers are located. 

Your IP address is at the bottom of the page once you click Website & Domains in the menu to the left.

If you're using one.com as your DNS host, it is enough to add the IP address as in the example below. Here is what the correct setup looks like:

If you use a different DNS host, you'll need to contact their support for guidance on how to add the A record through their interface.


Connect to Email 

To connect to the mail services in Plesk, you need to add an MX record and an A record with your DNS host. Your DNS host is where your domain's name servers are located. 

A record
Hostname: mail.domain.tld
Points to: Your IP address

If you're using one.com as your DNS host, here's what the correct setup looks like:

MX record
Mail server: mail.domain.tld (replace domain.tld to your domain name) 
Priority: 10

SPF Record
v=spf1 ip4:91.184.19.0/24 ~all


If you use a different DNS host, you'll need to contact their support for guidance on how to add DNS record through their interface.


Connect to Webmail

Plesk offers webmail access through Roundcube if you use the Managed VPS mail services. To connect, you need to add an additional A record

A record
Hostname: webmail.domain.tld
Points to: Your IP address
