Want to see the appointments booked on your Website Builder site in your Google Calendar? No problem. You can quickly sync a specific Google Calendar with your Bookings tool from the Bookings dashboard. Not only will your appointments appear in your Google Calendar, but your availability will also sync. In other words, any time blocked off in your Google Calendar will automatically be made unavailable for bookings.
In this guide, we'll take you through the setup steps in the Bookings dashboard.
- Step 1 - Go to the Bookings dashboard
- Step 2 - Choose your account
- Step 3 - Select an additional calendar (optional)
- Step 4 - Done!
Step 1 - Go to the Bookings dashboard
- Open your Bookings dashboard and go to Settings in the menu on the left.
- Click the Sync button next to Google Calendar near the top of the page.
Step 2 - Choose your account
- A new window will open to Google. Select and log in to the account you want to use for the synchronisation. You should see it in the window if you're already logged in to your chosen Google account.
- Click Continue on the next page.
- Tick the box near the top of the window to give the Bookings tool the necessary permissions.
- Scroll down and click Continue again.
Step 3 - Select an additional calendar (optional)
A new, separate bookings calendar will now be created in your Google Calendar, but you can also select an additional calendar from which the Bookings tool can pull availability.
For instance, if you have a calendar for private appointments, planned vacation time, or a calendar with all these things combined, you can select it from the drop-down menu under Additional calendar and connect it to the Bookings tool. Once connected, the Bookings tool will automatically check your selected Google Calendar and block out times when you are otherwise engaged and unable to take appointments.
This also means that if you want to add time off for something, you won't need to enter it in the Bookings dashboard. Just enter it in your Google Calendar, and then the time will automatically be blocked in Bookings.
Note: The Bookings tool will not display the blocked times; it will just exclude them from the time slot overview.
Step 4 - Done!
Your Google Calendar is now synced to your Bookings tool. If you want to remove the synchronisation at some point, you can click the Remove button next to the calendar in the settings in the Bookings dashboard.
Note: Although you can see the Booking appointments in your Google Calendar, you cannot edit or cancel them from there. You can only do that via the Bookings dashboard.
