If your site uses cookies, you must inform visitors and ask for their consent. You can do this via a consent banner, which you can easily activate in the Website Builder dashboard's website settings.
This guide explains how to enable a consent banner in Website Builder.
- Step 1 - Open your Website Builder dashboard
- Step 2 - Enable the Consent banner
- Step 3 - Choose a language and auto-blocker settings for your banner
- Step 4 - Click Save
- Step 5 - Publish the banner on your site

Step 1 - Open your Website Builder dashboard
- Open your Website Builder dashboard from the one.com control panel.
- Click on Website settings and select Consent banner in the menu to the left.
Step 2 - Enable the Consent banner
- Click on the slider to enable the Consent banner.
- When the banner is enabled, the slider will be blue.
Step 3 - Choose a language and auto-blocker settings for your banner
- Select the language in which your Consent banner should be displayed.
- Decide if you want to use auto-blocker with your banner. This feature automatically blocks third-party content from being displayed to your website visitors until they allow it. You can read more about Auto Blocker in our partner Termly's guide.
Note: English will always be the fallback language regardless of which language you choose for your banner. This means that if you have set the language to Dutch and someone enters your site with a different language in their browser settings, they will see the banner in English rather than Dutch.
Step 4 - Click Save
Once you have chosen a language and your auto-blocker settings, click Save.
It can take up to 24 hours from activation of the banner for your site to be scanned and the results to show up in your Consent banner.
Step 5 - Publish the banner on your site
You can only see the banner in the live version of your website.
- Click the Publish button in the Website Builder dashboard to publish your banner.
If you open your website, the banner will be shown in a pop-up window. Visitors to your website can choose which cookies they accept or if they want to decline all.
Note: Termly, our partner, determines automatically to which category a cookie belongs, so you don't need to worry about compliance or whether a cookie is necessary for your site to run.
