Using Featured categories with the Online Shop

Want to highlight popular Online Shop categories on your website? You can easily do just that with the 'Featured Categories' component in Website Builder.

After adding your main Online Shop, simply drag the 'Featured categories' component onto any page, place it where you like, and choose which categories to feature. The selected categories will then appear as shortcuts, and when a visitor clicks on one, they’ll be taken straight to that category in your shop. Keep reading to learn how to set it up step by step.

Step 1 - Find the Featured categories component

  1. Go to the Website Builder editor and click Online Shop in the menu on the left.
  2. Select the Featured categories option. You can click it or drag it to your workspace and drop it where you want.

Step 2 -Select your categories

  1. Choose which categories should be highlighted. If you have many categories, you can use the bar at the top to search for the ones you want.
  2. Select a category by ticking the box next to it. Categories will appear from left to right in the widget, with the top one on the list shown first. To change the display order, click the six dots icon and drag and drop a category up or down the list in the pop-up window.
  3. Click the Select categories button when you're done. If you want to change the category selection or the order of the categories later, click the Manage categories tab at the top of the component, and then the pop-up window will reappear.

Step 3 - Adjust the style of the component (optional)

  1. The widget will now be inserted on your page. Click the Category settings tab at the top of the component to adjust its style.
  2. You can adjust the text formatting in the properties panel.
  3. Untick the Show Category image box if you want to display only the labels rather than the label/image combination.
  4. Change the button style in the floating menu under Style.
  5. If you want to adjust the component's width, untick the Full width box in the properties panel or adjust it under Full width in the floating menu. There, you can choose between 'Full width' and 'Standard'.
  6. Save and publish your site to make the changes appear on your live website.
