Have you received a suspicious email that seems to be sent by one.com? This could be a so-called phishing email. Such an email is often hard to recognise because the fraudulent sender makes it look like it's sent by one.com.
How can you identify a false email?
1. Ignore the display name - always check the sender's email address.
Some false emails are well crafted and may appear to be from one.com. Always check the sender's email address to ensure authenticity, which should end with @one.com. Be cautious of display names, as they can easily be forged.
Verifying the sender's email address in Webmail, Gmail, or Outlook desktop is straightforward.
However, the email address is hidden by default in Apple Mail (both desktop and phone) and Outlook phone, so you need to click on the sender's name to view and verify it.
2. Do not click on any link. Instead, hover over the link or hold on it on your phone.
On your desktop, you can hover your cursor over links in Webmail or most email programs to see where the links will direct you. This allows you to check if the link leads to a one.com page.
On your Apple phone or tablet, you can press and hold the link, then select "Share." This will also show you the full link.
On an Android phone or tablet, pressing and holding the link will display the full link in a menu.
3. Stay calm
Usually, these emails create a sense of urgency, pressuring you to take immediate action. They may threaten consequences, such as domains or other services getting suspended or deleted if you don't act quickly. They can also ask for your account details or to log in using their malicious link.
4. Do not reply or share personal information via email
Do not reply with personal details or card information. If you log in to a site you later realise is not one.com, reset your password immediately.
5. Find and send us the email source
If you're unsure if an email is false, find the email source and send it to our support.
Follow this guide on how to find it and how you should send it to us: Where do I find the email source?
Stay safe online
If you are still uncertain or have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact our support team immediately. We are happy to help you verify the authenticity of emails.
If you are receiving these emails in an account not hosted by one.com (such as Gmail or other providers), please note that we cannot control or filter them. These emails are sent to your external accounts, which are outside of our services.
