What is changing?
From 28 March 2022, email accounts will have a limit of 3GB of storage space, included with your plan. If you need more than 3GB for an email account, you can buy an upgrade with extra storage, specifically for email.
At the same time, we're raising the total number of email accounts included with your plan. For "Email only", the number of mail accounts is increased from 2 to 5. And for accounts with web hosting, you'll be able to create unlimited accounts.
"Guru" plans stay unaffected; they keep unlimited email accounts without a storage limit - other than the webspace.
A Beginner plan with 50GB of web space will include unlimited email accounts, with a limit of 3GB of storage space per account. The total storage usage of all data - email accounts, website and database - cannot exceed 50GB.
Will it affect how my email is working?
No, your email will keep working as usual. We also won't block mails from being delivered or sent because you use more than 3GB of space.
How does this affect Email only plans?
We're raising the number of email accounts included with our "Email only" plan from 2 to 5. So you'll be able to create five email accounts without having to pay extra.
If an account uses more than 3GB, you have the option to buy extra email storage, the same as for other plans.
How does this affect Premium Mail accounts?
Premium Mail is characterised by premium features like Mobile Sync, not storage. This means that Premium Mail accounts will also be limited to 3GB storage, just like standard accounts, and have the option to buy additional storage.
How much extra storage can I buy?
You can buy 25GB storage per account or unlimited storage for all accounts on the domain. If you have three or more accounts that use more than 3GB, getting the Unlimited solution is already more economical.

What happens if I use more than 3GB?
When your subscription is getting close to renewal, we'll inform you via email if you have one or more email accounts that are using more than 3GB of storage space.
Then you have the choice to either reduce your usage below 3GB or opt for the extra storage space. If you don't take any action, the extra storage will be automatically added and charged to your bill.
At any time, if an email account is using more than 3GB, we'll show a notification in the control panel to alert you. Your account will keep working as usual.
Where can I see how much storage I am using?
Initially, you'll be able to see your storage usage in the one.com control panel under "Email". Later we'll also make this visible inside Webmail. If you use more than 3GB on an account, a notification will be visible in the control panel to alert you.
Tip: Your storage usage gets updated every time you log in to the control panel. So if you're in the process of deleting emails, make sure to log out and then in again to see the updated status.
Can I delete emails instead of paying for extra storage?
Yes. If you don't want to pay extra, you can reduce your storage. Simply delete emails from your account until your usage is below 3GB.
Tip: To delete larger batches of emails in one go in Webmail: Go to "Settings" and change the "Mails per page" from 50 to 250.
How can I enable extra email storage on my domain?
You'll be able to activate it in the one.com control panel under "Email" and then under the email settings for each account. Or, like any other add-on product, on domain level under "My account" > "My Products".
How can I cancel extra email storage?
You can cancel extra email storage in the one.com control panel under "Email", provided that you're using less than 3GB at the time of cancellation.
Note that extra storage isn't automatically cancelled if you delete the email account, or your usage falls below 3GB.
Can I move the extra storage to another mail account?
Yes, you can move the extra storage between email accounts on the same domain. To disconnect the extra storage from an account, it needs to be below 3GB.
How can I make a backup of my email?
The easiest way is to make a local backup of your emails on your computer, by setting up your account with IMAP in an email client, such as Outlook. Check the links below for instructions.
Another option is to use the Backup & Restore function in the control panel. Simply select the email account that you want to back up and select a date. A copy of your account is saved in the private folder of your webspace.
