How AI usage works in Aida AI Website Builder

Every request you send in Aida AI Website Builder contributes to your AI usage — and larger requests, such as creating new pages or sections, contribute more than small changes. It may also take a few attempts to get exactly the result you want, and each attempt adds to your AI usage.

Planning your request can help you get closer to the result you want in fewer attempts and make the most of the AI usage included in your plan.

  • How does AI usage work?

Your Aida plan has an AI usage limit. Each request contributes to your AI usage and reduces your remaining balance. Larger requests contribute more because they require Aida to do more work.

To understand what counts as a larger request, think of working with a web designer. Changing the text on a button is a quick task. Designing and writing a new landing page takes much more work. Aida completes both in seconds, but the larger task still requires more AI processing.

  • Which requests contribute most to my AI usage?

In general, the larger and more complex the task, the higher the AI usage. Small changes contribute less, new content contributes more, and creating several pages or sections at once contributes the most.

    For example:

Lower AI usage Higher AI usage
Change text Create a new page
    Update colours Create multiple pages
Rewrite a paragraph Generate a blog post
Change a button Create a new section
Find something on your site Create several sections or pages at once
  • Does the same request always result in the same AI usage?

No. AI usage depends on the work involved. There is no fixed amount for each type of request.

Think of it like the fuel you use to drive your car. How much fuel you need to reach your destination depends on factors such as the route you take, the traffic and your driving style.

AI usage works in a similar way. How you phrase your request, the order in which you ask for changes and the number of adjustments you make all affect your total usage before reaching the result you want.

That's why you can't calculate exactly how many pages or changes are included. You can, however, influence your AI usage by planning your requests and working step by step.

  • How should I prepare before sending my prompt?

Aida starts working as soon as you send a message, because it treats each message as an instruction. If you're still exploring ideas, this can lead to several versions and quickly increase your AI usage.

Before sending your request, take a moment to decide:

    • Who is this page for?
    • What should visitors do on it?
    • What should it look or feel like?
    • Which part of the website should change?

You may find it helpful to draft your request somewhere else first, such as in a notes app. Send it to Aida once it clearly describes what you want.

  • How do I write a good prompt?

The clearer your request, the more likely Aida is to get it right the first time — which can help keep your AI usage lower.

A good prompt answers three questions:

    • What should change?
    • Where should it change?
    • How should the result look or sound?

    For example:

    ❌ Instead of... ✅ Try...
Can you improve the text on my website? Rewrite this introduction to sound more friendly, and keep it under 100 words.
Add some more content to my site. Add a testimonials section below the Pricing section.
I don't like the colours, change them. Change the primary button colour to dark green.
Make my website rank higher on Google. Rewrite this page using keywords about bicycle repair.
Create a new page for my business. Create an About Us page for a family-owned bakery.
  • Should I ask Aida to make several changes at once?

It's usually better to make one change at a time. Asking Aida for everything at once can be tempting, but working step by step gives better results — and more control.

    Instead of one big request:

Create an About page, a Contact page and a FAQ page, rewrite all my content, change the colours and optimise everything for SEO.

    Try working step by step:

    1. Create an About Us page that tells the story of my family-owned bakery.
    2. Review the result and adjust it if needed.
    3. Create a Contact page with my opening hours, address and a contact form.
    4. Add a FAQ section to the homepage that answers common questions about ordering.
    5. Rewrite the homepage text using keywords about fresh bread and custom cakes.

This way, you review each result before generating more and avoid adding to your AI usage for content you don't want to keep.

  • What if Aida doesn't get it right the first time?

Sometimes Aida may not understand exactly what you mean, or the result may not be quite what you had in mind.

You usually don't need to start over completely. Tell Aida what you want to keep and what you want to change. This often adds less to your AI usage than creating everything again.

    For example:

Keep the layout, but make the introduction shorter and more professional.

  • How can I show Aida what I like?

You can describe what you like in everyday language. You don't need to know any design terms.

    For example:

    • I like the large photo at the top of the page.
    • I like how the menu is short and easy to understand.
    • I like that the page doesn't feel crowded.
    • I like how the services are shown in separate boxes.
    • I like the colours, but I want to use my own logo and brand colours.

You can also upload a screenshot of a website or design you like. Tell Aida which parts you want to use as inspiration.

    For example:

Use this screenshot as inspiration. I like the large photo at the top, the simple menu and the way the services are shown. Create something with a similar feel for my business, using my own text, images and colours.

Websites, images and text may be protected by copyright, so don't ask Aida to make an exact copy of someone else's website. You can still use examples as inspiration and explain which ideas you like.

  • What happens if I reach my AI usage limit?

When you reach the AI usage included in your plan, Aida can't generate new content until your balance resets the following month. To help you avoid surprises, you'll receive a warning when you've used 80% of your included usage.

We're still learning how much AI usage customers typically need to create and update a website. As we learn more, we can adjust our plans and consider offering AI top-ups for customers who need more.

For now, if you reach your AI limit, please contact our support team. We'll review your usage and help you continue building your website. If you're using the free trial, please include the email address you used to sign up for Aida.

Tip! You can still edit some text and images manually - even if you've run out of AI usage.
