In this article, we explain how you change the contact details of the domain owner (registrant). Not sure what we mean with domain owner? The following guide explains the difference between the subscription and domain owner.
If you want to update the domain Email or Contact person for a gTLD (e.g. .com, .net and .org domains), please follow the steps in this guide: How do I change the registrant email for my domain?
Note: If you don't have access to the current domain owner email (registrant email), you'll need to use our Change contact details form and check the box Also update my domain details.
- Step 1 - Go to My account
- Step 2 - Go to My products
- Step 3 - Click Edit contact details
- Step 4 - Enter your new details
- Step 5 - Different owner details
Step 1 - Go to My account
Log in to the one.com control panel. Click My account in the top-right corner.
Step 2 - Go to My products
Click My products in the menu that appears.
Step 3 - Click Edit contact details
Click Manage for the domain you want to change the details for, and select Edit contact details in the menu that appears.
Step 4 - Enter your new details
If the domain is registered on different details than your subscription account (web space), there are two sets of owner details. If this is the case, please go to Step 5.
- Find "Domain owner details" and enter your new details.
- Click Update to save your changes.
- All done! Your domain details have now been updated.
Step 5 - Different owner details
If the domain is registered on different details than your subscription account (web space), you will need to request an update key to update the domain details.
- Click Request update key to receive an email with the update key.
- Check your email. Above Update key, you can see the email address the key was sent to.
- Copy the key from your email and paste it into the Update key box.
- Click Update.
- All done! Your domain details have now been updated.
Note: In some cases, it may take a bit longer before your domain details are updated because we manually check if they are valid.
