Step 1 - Connect your domain and retrieve DNS list
Before you can create the relevant records with us, you’ll need to connect your domain in the Squarespace dashboard. You can check Squarespace’s own guide for more information on how to do this.
After you’ve connected the domain, you should be able to see a list of DNS records. This list should contain two CNAME records and four A records as shown in the screenshot here:
Note: As Squarespace is a third-party product, the requirements for connecting a Squarespace website to a domain with another provider might be subject to change. Therefore, make sure to double-check the DNS specifications in the provided list before following the steps below.
Step 2 - Log in to your one.com control panel
- Log in to your one.com control panel.
- Scroll down to Advanced settings and click on DNS settings.
Step 3 - Go to DNS records
Go to the DNS records tab near the top of your screen
Step 4 - Create the CNAME records

- Choose CNAME in the options just below Create new record.
- In the Hostname field, enter your unique code from Squarespace as shown in Step 1’s screenshot.
- In the field Is an alias of, enter verify.squarespace.com
- Leave the TTL field empty.

For the second CNAME record:
- Choose CNAME in the options just below Create new record.
- In the Hostname field, enter www
- In the field Is an alias of, enter ext-cust.squarespace.com
- Leave the TTL field empty.
- Click Create record.
Step 5 - Create the A records
- Choose A in the options just below Create new record.
- Leave the Hostname field empty.
- In the field Will point to, enter the IP address under “Required data” on the list from Squarespace. For the first A record, this should be 198.185.159.144
- Leave the TTL field empty.
- Click Create record.
Repeat this process for each A record on the Squarespace list.
Step 6 - Done!
That’s it! Please note that if you have just connected the domain in the Squarespace dashboard, then it might take up 72 hours for the domain to fully connect. However, if the connection has already been made, the DNS connection with us should work within 90 minutes.
