In this article, you'll find information on what size and how many emails you can send and receive using your one.com email.
What size emails can I send and receive?
Including attachments, you can send and receive emails that are up to 70 MB in size. In addition, the receiving mail server needs to be capable of handling the size of the email itself.
How many emails can I send?
Our servers handle a limited number of emails at a time to ensure that all emails end up where they should be.
Email limitations are listed below for email clients/Webmail and via PHP scripts.
Note: If you intend to send large amounts of emails, keep in mind that our mail servers are not designed for sending high volumes at the same time. For regular newsletter distribution, we recommend using specialized services. If your email volume approaches our limits (listed below), we suggest leaving some margin to prevent failures, as larger sends may occasionally fail.
Email clients/Webmail
- 60 emails / 1 min (only applies if the sender domain and recipient domain are the same)
- 25 emails / 5 min
- 250 emails / 1 hour
- 250 recipients / 5 min
- 1500 recipients / 1 hour
Examples:
If you want to send the same email to 100 different recipients (typically added as CC), you should be able to send it without any issues.
If you want to send the same email to 400 recipients, you need to first send it to a maximum of 250 recipients, wait 5 minutes, and then send it to the remaining.
Note: The other limitations in the list above applies to sending to any other domain than your own.
PHP script
- 60 emails / 1 min
Note: The FROM address in your contact form must be an active email address on your domain. Using the visitor's address as FROM address will result in the email not being delivered. If you're using an external email provider, you still need to create the email account with us in the control panel.
Newsletters can be sent using services such as MailChimp.
