How do I change my VPS password?

We recommend that you assign a new password to your Cloud Server before you start using it. The password can be changed in the VPS dashboard by the admin user of the VPS.

You can also reset your VPS password by redeploying your server in the VPS dashboard, but this will result in a total data loss that cannot be undone.

This guide will show you how you can change your VPS password in these two ways.

Change your password via the VPS dashboard

The admin user of the VPS can change its password in the VPS dashboard:

  1. Go to your VPS dashboard.
  2. Click on the name of the Cloud Server for which you want to change the password.
  3. Click Settings in the left hand menu.
  4. Click Change password.
  5. Type your new password in the two fields and click Save.

Change your password by redeploying the server

Note: If you change your password by redeploying your server, all its data will be deleted. This action cannot be undone.

  1. Go to your VPS dashboard.
  2. Click on the name of the Cloud Server for which you want to change the password.
  3. Scroll down to the Redeploy server section and click it.
  4. Scroll down until you see a Enter password field, and enter your new password. Then, repeat the new password in the Repeat new password field below the first field.
  5. Tick the box saying I understand that my data will be deleted and that this action cannot be undone.
  6. Click Confirm.
