2. Click Termly under Advanced Settings.

Step 2 - Go to Consent Banner page
In the left-hand menu, click Consent Management and then Consent Banner to open the page where you can customise your banner.
Step 3 - Choose your consent banner’s theme
The consent banner's theme defines its colours, font and font size. You can either choose one of Termly’s built-in themes or build a custom theme.
- Built-in themes: These follow accessibility guidelines and make sure that your banner is legible.
- Custom theme: If you want to choose the banner's colours and font yourself, can build a custom theme. Make sure that the banner’s texts and buttons are easy to read to ensure that it complies with international regulations.
Tip: Click Preview to see how the banner will look on your website.
Step 4 - Choose how the banner is displayed on your website
In Display style, you can choose how the banner is shown on your website. You have three options:
- Banner: A page-wide bar that appears at the top or bottom of the page.
- Modal: A pop-up window that appears at the centre of the page.
- Tooltip: A pop-up window that appears at the corner of the page.
In Position, you can select whether the banner is shown at the top or the bottom of the browser window.
Step 5 - Review Banner text settings
In Banner text settings, select answers to the three questions about how you collect and use information. The consent banner’s text will be adjusted according to your answers.
Step 6 - Review Policy settings
The consent banner will include a link to your Privacy policy. In Policy settings, you can select whether you want to use a Privacy Policy created by Termly or link to an existing Privacy Policy on your website.
If you have not yet created a Privacy Policy, you can easily create one by clicking Privacy policy in the menu and answering a series of questions. Termly will generate a Privacy policy based on your answers.
Step 7 - Review Consent settings
Here you can review and adjust you consent banner’s settings according to region. By default, these settings are set to conform to the most prominent regional privacy laws like the GDPR. Therefore, changing these settings to be less strict is not recommended, as it may compromise your banner’s compliance.
You can always restore Termly's default settings by clicking ‘Use recommended settings’.
Tip: You can see more information about each setting by clicking the question mark next to it.
Step 8 - Choose your banner’s languages
The Termly consent banner can be translated to 15 + languages according to the visitor’s browser settings. In Multi-language Settings, you can select the languages in which your banner can be shown.
Step 9 - Save changes
When you are ready, remember to click the Save button at the bottom of the page to save your consent banner’s settings.
