Creating a new database on my VPS in Plesk
Do you need a database for your website or application? This guide will show you step-by-step instructions on how to create one in Plesk.
- Step 1 - Access your Plesk Control Panel
- Step 2 - Click Databases
- Step 3 - Enter your database information
- Step 4 - Database created
Note: If you created a website using the WordPress option in Plesk, a database has already been set up for you, and this step is not necessary.
Step 1 - Access your Plesk Control Panel
- In your one.com Control Panel, click on VPS in the menu on the left.
- Click the Cloud Server you want to manage.
- From the VPS panel, you click on the Plesk button below Shortcuts.
Step 2 - Click Databases
Once in the Plesk Control Panel, locate the Databases section in the menu on the left, then click the blue Add Database button.
Step 3 - Enter your database information
Fill out the required fields, which is:
Database name
Database user name
Password
Confirm password
Other customization options are also available, but they are not required to create the database.
Step 4 - Database created
Once your new database is created, you can access phpMyAdmin, import or export data, check connection details, and more! If it wasn’t assigned to a site during setup, you can also do so now.
