Why your .dk-domain email address will be published – and what to do about it
New rules from the EU require company domain email addresses to be made public soon.
Starting 1 September 2025, Punktum.dk (the Danish domain provider) will begin showing your domain's contact email on WHOIS websites. This change is part of a wider effort to improve online security and transparency.

What will be visible in WHOIS?
If your domain is registered to a company, the following information will be publicly available:
- Company name
- Address
- Phone number
- Email address (starting September 2025)
If the email address contains personal data (e.g., john.smith@company.dk), it will still be published, including the personal part.
Tip: Keep in mind that this information will only appear in WHOIS, such as on Punktum.dk and other WHOIS lookup sites.
What should I do?
If you don’t mind your contact email being public, you don’t have to do anything.
If you want to protect your personal information, we recommend using a generic email address, such as:
companyname@gmail.com
companyname@microsoft.com
yourdomain@yahoo.dk
How do I check or update my domain email?
You can check and update the email address linked to your domain in the one.com Control Panel.
Step-by-step guide:
How do I change my domain's email address?
Note: We recommend using a contact email that is not linked to your domain. If something happens to your domain, we want to make sure we can still reach you.
How do I create a generic email address?
If you don’t already have one, you can easily create a generic email account with free email services like:
Gmail
Microsoft
Yahoo
Of course, you can also use or email services (but we recommend using a third-party email in this case):
