What is the storage size of my mailbox, and what is Extra email storage?
The storage size of your mailbox is how much email storage you can use on your email account. The storage depends on your current hosting plan and if you have enabled Extra email storage on your email account.
MB (megabyte) and GB (gigabyte) are used to define the size of, e.g., files, photos and videos. 1000 MB = 1 GB

Email is included in all our hosting plans(except the Domain only plan), and how many accounts you can create depends on which plan you are using. The standard email storage per email account is limited to 3 GB, but you can buy extra email storage if you need more.

If two of your mailboxes exceed the 3 GB limit, we will add 2 x 25 GB extra storage, and if three or more of your accounts exceed the limit, you will get the Unlimited storage plan.
If one or more of your accounts exceeds 28GB, you will also get the Unlimited storage plan.
How can I avoid Extra email storage?
If you see that your mailbox is starting to approach the 3 GB limit, you can delete emails from your mailbox to reduce it.
How can I purchase and connect Extra email storage to an email account?
You'll be able to activate it in the one.com control panel under Email and then under the email settings for each account. Or, like any other add-on product, on domain level under My account → My Products
After you have purchased your extra storage, you can connect it to your email account by going to See more in the Email tile → click the three dots behind the email account you want to connect it to → click Connect extra storage.
How can I cancel Extra email storage?
You can cancel Extra email storage in the one.com control panel under See more in the Email tile for the specific email account. To cancel, you must be using less than 3 GB on your email account at the time of cancellation.
Scroll down to Storage add-ons → Click Manage add-ons → Cancel subscription.
Note that extra storage isn't automatically cancelled if you delete the email account or your usage falls below 3 GB.
How can I move the Extra email storage from one email account to another?
If you have connected the extra storage to an email account, but want to move the extra storage to another account, you must first disconnect the storage from the account the storage is connected to.
To disconnect, click See more in the Email tile, click the three dots behind the email account you want to disconnect the storage for and select Disconnect extra storage.
Where can I see how much email storage I am using?
You’ll be able to see your storage usage in the one.com control panel on the Email settings page. This is updated once daily. We've also made this visible inside your Webmail in the bottom left corner of the mail page. This is continuously updated.
You can also see your storage usage in Outlook, Apple Mail and many other email clients if you right-click on your inbox and go to Settings.
Please note that these email clients or apps count the storage and storage limits differently, which means you will expect some differences.
If you're using more than 3 GB on an account, a notification will be visible in the control panel to alert you.
How can I make a backup of my emails?
Backup of your emails must be done through an email client, like Outlook, Apple Mail or Thunderbird. So you'll first need to set up your email in an email client of your choice. We've made plenty of guides for you, showing you how to set up your email account in the most used clients here: Email setup.
After you have set up your account, you can find links on how to backup emails in Outlook, Apple Mail and Thunderbird, in this article.
You can also create a manual backup in the control panel under Backup and Restore.
Please note that the email backups you make through Backup and Restore will be stored in My Backups in your one.com control panel. It will not count in your 3 GB available per mailbox, but it will count in your total available storage in your hosting plan.
