This guide explains what Domain Lock is and how to use it. In short, it's a feature from one.com that enhances web security and protects the domain name from unwanted transfer attempts.
Losing control of your domain can have a huge business impact, and setting up additional security measures can provide peace of mind. Luckily, it's included in all our plans except Domain only.
What does Domain Lock do?
With Domain Lock, you set up a password for obtaining the domain transfer key (Auth-ID) needed to transfer the domain away from one.com. This will help block any malicious or accidental transfers of your domain name.
Requesting the Auth-ID while Domain Lock is active will send an email to you. It contains a link to a page asking you to enter the Domain Lock and control panel passwords. Once the correct passwords have been entered, a new email with the transfer key (Auth-ID) will be sent.
How do I activate Domain Lock?
Domain Lock is available to all customers with a domain that supports Auth-ID/EPP-code transfers and is registered with one.com. The subscription owner and domain owner details need to match. If you need help, please check our guide: Where can I find my current contact details?
