How do I set the language for a page in Website Builder?

Website Builder includes a default language feature that helps screen readers read your site’s content aloud for those who need it. This ensures that your website is accessible to as many visitors as possible. The language screen readers use will be the same as the language you chose for your website during onboarding. If you didn't pick one, it defaults to the language set in your Website Builder editor.

You can manually change the language for individual pages in your site’s settings. This guide will show you how to do that in just a few clicks.

Note: If you want information on changing the language in your Website Builder editor, please go to this guide instead: How do I change the language?

Step 1 - Go to the page settings in Website Builder

  1. Open your Website Builder editor and go to the pages menu in the upper-left corner.
  2. Click on the three-dot icon next to the page for which you want to change the language.
  3. Click Settings in the menu that appears.

Step 4 - Publish your website

Lastly, remember to (re)publish your site to implement the changes.

Note: It might be a while before these changes appear in the search results for your website. However, you can ask Google to index your site faster by doing a recrawl, thus speeding up the process.
