WP Admin is the dashboard where you manage your WordPress website. Here, you can change your site's appearance, create new posts and pages, review comments, add new users, and more.
After installing the one.com plugin, you can easily access WP Admin from the WordPress section inside the one.com Control Panel.
- Log into the one.com Control Panel.
- Click on the WordPress tile.
- In the list, click the website you want to manage. This will open the site's overview in Control Panel.
- Click the WP Admin button.
Tip: You can also access your website via WP Admin's own login page. Simply add /wp-admin after the domain of your website, for example: one-example.com/wp-admin.
Write and publish a post
In WordPress, you can publish two types of content:
- Posts are timestamped articles, for example blog posts. You can use posts to inform your visitors about updates and news, and to keep a blog.
- Pages can be used for the permanent content of your website, for example the "About us" and "Contact" pages in your website's navigation menu.
You can create a new post in WP Admin:
- Go to your WP Admin.
- Click Posts in the menu to the left to see an overview of all blog posts you currently have.
- Click Add New at the top of the screen.
- Write the title of the post at the top.
- Add paragraphs, headings and other content blocks by clicking on the + icon.
- Click Preview to check how your post will look online.
- When you are satisfied with the result, click Publish, to make the text visible on your blog.

Change your theme
There are thousands of WordPress themes that you can install on your site. We have created separate guides on changing themes:
Install additional plugins
One of the big advantages of WordPress is that you can easily add extra features and tools to your site by installing plugins. For example, you can use plugins to add a contact form to your site and to protect it from spam. While there are premium plugins that you need to pay for, most plugins are completely free.
- In your WP Admin, click Plugins and then Add New in the menu to the left.
- Browse the available plugins, or search for keywords or functionality.
- Click Install now if you have found a plugin that you like.
- Go to Installed plugins to find the plugin you just installed and click Activate.
In one.com Marketplace, you can find and install plugins developed by us and our partners. These free and premium plugins can boost your site's SEO, improve its speed, help you manage your business more efficiently, and more.
We also have a list of plugins we advise you not to use.
Tip: Not sure what plugin to pick? Check our blog post: What are the best WordPress plugins?
Manage comment settings
One of the characteristics of a blog is that readers can leave comments on your posts, and this is also an essential feature in WordPress. However, to avoid spam, we recommend that you limit commenting to users who are logged in.
- In your WP Admin, click Settings and then Discussion in the menu to the left.
- Check the box for "Users must be registered and logged in to comment" if you want to activate this setting.
- You can also change other settings: for example, you can decide when you want to get notifications about new comments. and list terms that aren't allowed in comments, like abusive language.
- Click Save Changes.
Tip: When a new comment is waiting to be reviewed, you'll see a notification in the menu to the left and at the top of your WP Admin.
