How do I launch a WordPress site generated with Flowpilot?
With our AI tool Flowpilot, you can quickly generate a professional looking WordPress website for your business by just giving a prompt and answering a few questions. After generating a website complete with texts, you can continue editing it with the AI chat - for example by adding information and changing images.
When your generated site is ready, you can launch it easily by buying a hosting plan and domain at one.com and creating a new WordPress installation. Follow the steps below to publish the generated site online.
- Step 1 - Generate a site and create a Flowpilot account
- Step 2 - Buy a domain and hosting plan at one.com
- Step 3 - Wait for 24 hours to make sure your domain is ready
- Step 4 - Create a new WordPress installation with our installation tool
- Step 5 - Connect your site to your domain and WP Admin
- Step 6 - View and edit your launched site
Step 1 - Generate a site and create a Flowpilot account
Note: At the moment, Flowpilot is only available in English.
If you haven't generated a site and created a Flowpilot account yet, you can do those for free at flowpilot.group.one.
- Generate a site with Flowpilot.
- Click Launch in the top right corner of your site's preview.
- In the pop-up window, create your free Flowpilot account by entering a name, password and email address. Make sure to enter an email address that you can access.
- Click Create an account.
- On the next page, you can see the recommended hosting for your site. Click Select to receive an email with instructions on how to proceed.
- Open the email which you received from Flowpilot - it includes a summary of the steps you need to do to launch your site. Make sure not to lose this email, as it contains links which you'll need in later steps.
Step 2 - Buy a domain and hosting plan at one.com
Note: If you already have a hosting plan and domain at one.com, and want to use them for publishing your site, you can skip this step and continue from Step 4.
To publish your site online, you need a WordPress hosting plan and a domain, so that visitors can find your site.
- Add a hosting plan to your cart at one.com. We recommend getting a WordPress hosting plan together with our Managed WP add-on, which makes managing your WordPress website easier.
- After adding the hosting plan to your cart, you will be asked to choose a domain - it will be your website's address online. Choose a domain that fits your business or project.
- Complete your order.
Step 3 - Wait 24 hours to make sure your domain is ready
Before you can continue, your new domain needs to become active. This can take up to 24 hours.
After completing your order at one.com, please wait for 24 hours before you proceed to the next step.
Step 4 - Create a new WordPress installation with our installation tool
Next, you need to create an empty WordPress installation. You can do it easily through the one.com Control Panel.
1. Log in to your one.com Control Panel and click WordPress.
2. Click New installation to create a new WordPress installation on your domain.
3. Select a language for your website and WP Admin, and choose a WordPress hosting: You can choose between Standard WordPress hosting, which is included in your plan, and Managed WP, which you can buy as an add-on service.
4. Choose a location for your website. If this is your first website on this domain, we recommend choosing the main domain. Click Install or Next.
Note: If you choose the option Subdomain, another step will be added where you'll be asked to name your subdomain.
5. Click the Get started button.
6. Next, you can choose your WP Admin account details. WP Admin is the dashboard where you log in to manage your WordPress website.
Important: Make sure to write down the username and password you choose at this step. You will need them later for logging in to WP Admin.
- Enter an Admin email address - this field is pre-filled with your one.com account's e-mail address.
- Enter the Username you want to use for logging in to WP Admin. We recommend choosing a personal username instead of a general one. Avoid easy-to-guess usernames such as "admin".
- Choose a secure Password for your username.
- Don't activate Advanced Login Protection.
7. Click Continue.
8. Choose Manually create your website. This is important - your Flowpilot site cannot be connected if the WordPress installation is not empty.
9. On this page, you can choose plugins for your website. We recommend using the default selection. Click Complete setup.
10. The installation will be finished in a few seconds.
Step 5 - Connect your site to your domain and WP Admin
Now, you can connect your AI-generated website to your domain and WP Admin.
- In the Flowpilot email, click the Connect domain button.
- Enter your domain name and click Continue.
- You will be taken to your WordPress installation's login page. Log in with the WP Admin username and password you chose in Step 4.
- After logging in to WP Admin, you'll see a page titled "Authorize the application". Click I accept this connection button to allow Flowpilot to connect and launch your site.
- That’s it! Your site will now be connected with your domain and WP Admin, and you'll be redirected to Flowpilot.
How to solve issues
If you're having issues with logging in or connecting your site, please check the following:
- When logging in to WP Admin, use the username and password you chose in Step 4.
- Advanced Login Protection should not be active for your WordPress installation. You can deactivate it easily in the Control Panel - see our guide.
- Your WordPress installation should be empty. If it's not empty, delete it and create a new one.
If you're still having issues, contact our support. We're always happy to help.
Step 6 - View and edit your launched site
Your site can now be seen by visitors in your domain. You can edit the site in Flowpilot and WP Admin:
Editing in Flowpilot (recommended)
Choose your site in Flowpilot to continue editing it with the AI chat.
In the first and current version of Flowpilot, the editing functions within the preview are not available after the site has been published. We are working on making them available for published sites.
Editing in WP Admin
You can also edit your site in WP Admin. Log in easily through the one.com Control Panel by clicking the WordPress tile and then the name of your WordPress site. See our WordPress guides for more information on how to use WordPress.
