Create or change your password for SSH/SFTP or FTP

This guide shows you how to create or change your SFTP or FTP password. If you're looking to change your SSH password, follow the same steps as for SFTP.

New one.com Control Panel update

With the rollout of our new Control Panel design, some steps or screenshots in this guide may look different from what you see now. While we work on updates, please check the guide below whenever the instructions don't match your screen:

Tip: We recommend using SFTP over FTP to connect to your web space. SFTP is encrypted and offers much better security.

Step 1 - Open SSH & SFTP in the Control Panel

Click here to open the SSH & SFTP section under Advanced settings in the Control Panel.

Step 2 - Click Send

  1. Depending on which password you want to change, verify that the access for SFTP Administration or FTP Administration is set to On.
  2. Click the Send button, to send an email to your contact email address.
