The Staging feature lets you create a staging environment for your website where you can experiment with plugins, themes, and customisations without affecting your live site. This guide will help you get started with the Staging feature and navigate through its features.
Note: This feature is already included in Enthusiast plans and larger. If you are using a Beginner or Explorer plan you can unlock it via the Managed WordPress add-on.

What is the one.com Staging feature?
You can use the one.com Staging feature to try out changes on your WordPress site without affecting your live site, where your visitors might notice this.
It works like this:
- The staging feature creates a copy of your site in a randomly created location on your web space, where you can try out plugins, themes or other changes.
- If something goes wrong, e.g. a plugin that doesn't work as intended, you can rebuild the staging site and import a copy of your live website again.
- When you are happy with the result, you can copy the staging site to the live version of your site to make it visible to your users. That's all!
Where can I activate the one.com Staging feature?
You can access the Staging feature via the one.com parent plugin. It is included in all hosting plans from Enthusiast and higher, as well as the Managed WordPress add-on. You can find it in the WP Admin in the menu to the left. The one.com plugin is activated by default when the parent plugin is installed.

How do I create a staging environment?
- Go to the one.com plugin in your WP Admin.
- Click Staging in the dropdown menu.
- Click the button Create staging site.
Where can I edit, view and delete my staging site?
After you have created the staging site, you will see these options:
- Log in to staging - your staging WP Admin, where you can edit your site.
- View your site - here, you can view your staging site and any changes you have made.
- Rebuild staging - create a fresh copy of your live site by overwriting your existing staging site.
- Delete staging - this option deletes your staging site. All changes will be lost.
We recommend that you delete your staging site when you no longer need it. Leaving it would make your site more vulnerable to hacks because it doesn't get updated.
How do I move my staging site to my live site?
You can copy your staging site to your live site from the staging backend. You can recognise the staging backend on the green bar at the top of the screen. In your live site, this bar is black.
- Go to the one.com plugin in your staging WP Admin.
- Click Staging in the dropdown menu.
- Click the button Copy staging to live.
