Your pages, templates and sections are built with elements called Components. You can combine and customise these components and create a unique look for your website.
This guide will show you how to add a component to a page in the one.com Website Builder. We’ll also briefly describe some of the most common components.
- How do I add a component to a page?
- The text component
- The image component
- The box component
- The button component
How do I add a component to a page?
You can see all the available components in the menu on the left-hand side of the Website Builder editor. To add a component to your page, click and drag the specific component to where you want to place it on the page. The orange lines indicate how the component is aligned in relation to other components and the page itself.
Once the component is inserted, you can easily edit it. Click on the component and select the Edit tab that appears. You can also edit by double-clicking. Once you do that, two separate menus will appear:
- A grey bar for quick changes
- A floating menu with more options for customisation
The text component
You can add text to your page in different forms with the text component. If you want to add a simple text box, click Text in the components menu and select the paragraph option. If you're going to add a heading or other larger text, you can save time by choosing one of the premade options.
The list in the blue menu also contains other component templates, such as lists and text/image combinations. You can use the tabs at the top of the blue menu to sort through them.
The image component
This component lets you insert just an image onto your site. Select the image option you want to use, choose the image, and add it to your page. You can upload your own, use free photos from our extensive database, or buy images from Shutterstock.
For a complete overview of the customisation options in the image component, check out our guide on inserting an image.
The box component
The box component belongs under a larger category of components called Containers. They are called so because they allow you to insert other components into them and group them.
This means that you can, for example, insert a box with a text component inside it and a button. If you want to move all these elements, you can grab the box, and the other elements will follow. That way, you won’t have to move every single component if you’ve set up a designed element where you use more than one type of component.

The button component
The button component is simple but very useful. It allows you to create links on the page and elegantly redirect your visitor. Choose the exact text and style you want it to have, and insert a link to an external location, a file, another page on your website and more.
