In this FAQ, you’ll learn how to manage attached domains in your hosting plan. We’ll explain how to attach a domain to an existing plan to benefit from hosting features, without paying for a separate hosting plan for each domain.
You’ll also find answers to common questions about supported plans, attaching domains, and how to detach a domain if needed.
-
What is an attached domain?
An attached domain shares all the features of the plan it's attached to. You only pay for the domain fee plus any premium or add-on products you activated for this domain. The domains must all be managed under the same contact email address.
For example: A domain attached to a Guru plan will benefit from the same performance and features included in that plan — such as Premium Mail, SSH access, and SiteLock. However, add-ons that are not included, like Website Builder Premium, need to be purchased separately for each domain.
If you want to get an additional domain, please refer to the guide "How to order another domain through the one.com Control Panel" before proceeding here.

Which plans allow me to attach domains?
We offer two multi-domain plans that let you attach multiple domains to a single hosting plan, so all your domains can share that plan's features and benefits. You can attach domains to the following hosting plans:
- Enthusiast: up to 5 domains
- Guru: up to 10 domains
This number includes the primary domain; e.g. on Enthusiast, you can attach up to four additional domains.

How do I attach a standalone domain without hosting?
You can attach a standalone domain without hosting to a hosting plan and share all features of that hosting plan. The domain needs to be registered under the same user account (contact email).
- Go to My account > My products in the top-right corner of your Control Panel.
- Scroll down to Domain Only.
- Then, click Manage on the far right of the domain you want to attach.
- Click Attach to hosting plan in the menu that appears.
- On the next screen, select the hosting plan you want to attach to and click Continue.
- Done! The domain is now attached to the selected plan and you can see it in the overview.

How do I attach a domain with a hosting plan?
You can also attach domains that already have a plan, to another hosting plan. That way, you reduce your costs to only the yearly domain fee plus any add-on services that aren't included in the plan. The domain needs to be registered under the same user account.
- Go to My account > My products in the top-right corner of your Control Panel.
- Then, click Manage on the far right of the domain you want to attach.
- Click Move to another plan in the menu that appears.
- On the next screen, select the hosting plan you want to attach to and click Continue.
- Done! The domain is now attached to the selected plan and you can see it in the overview.

How can I give an attached domain its own plan?
If you're using a multi-domain plan (like Guru or Enthusiast) and want to manage one of your domains separately, there are two options – but they have very different outcomes:
-
Upgrade the domain to its own hosting plan
This keeps your website, files, and email intact. The domain will have its own hosting and billing, making it easier to manage separately. This is the recommended option if you want to keep all data.
Follow our step-by-step guide: How to upgrade to a different plan -
Detach the domain from the current plan (downgrade to Domain Only)
On the My products page, you might see the option “Detach domain from this plan”. Be careful – this will remove all hosting data, including your website and email. Only choose this if you no longer need the hosting.
-
Upgrade the domain to its own hosting plan
-
How can I cancel the primary domain?
The primary domain is the main domain linked to your hosting plan. Its invoice includes both the hosting plan and domain costs. Attached domains have separate invoices and are only charged for the domain (plus any add-ons).
If you want to cancel the primary domain of your multi-domain plan, make sure that all attached domains have their own hosting plans first. The previous section explains how to do this. You can’t cancel the primary domain if other domains are still attached to it.
